Anyway, you can hear the stress when one speaks in a mic. with nobody in front :-D

Not quite natural but that's my voice anyway.

Anonyme a dit…

Flocon,
Finally I get to hear your sexy French accent! Thank you! I love it! I keep listening to the recording over and over. You have a certain British accent mixed with just a hint of a French accent when you speak English. You sound quite natural to me. The only words that really give away your accent were 'message' and 'semperfidelis'.

You have a kind and gentle voice that is oh sooo sexy. yum! With a voice like that I can forgive you of anything. ;)

Thank you!

What a wonderful morning for me. ☺

Anonyme a dit…

Oh, by the way. I can't quite make out what you're saying right after you say "bounjour Christine".

Anonyme a dit…

Oh, one more thing. I couldn't quite make out what you were saying when you said, "I don't have pretty picture of ??? garden"..

Anijo,

Sun-bathed garden

"The only words that really give away your accent were 'message' and 'semperfidelis'.

I can manage to handle these two words correctly but .. the stress Anijo, the stress...

I'll have another try later, I have to go now...

(See you later alligator :-D)

Ouiiiiiiii!

A mon tour, maintenant!

I am in heaven listening to you two, Flocon and Christine.

Christine, you have that beautiful voice that I am so attracted to in French women.

Flocon,
Troisième... C'est toi ?... Oh my... your voice when you speak French is like honey to my ears.. C'est plus fort que moi..

Anonyme a dit…

Sun-bathed

You pronounce the 'a' in 'bathed' as an Englishman would, with a delicious hint of French. This is why I didn't understand.

I spent an afternoon in London with an Irishman and I didn't even understand everything that he said.

Flocon a dit…

Ned,

Listen... err...do you mean nuéclair like... err... I mean... nucular?

Flocon a dit…

Christine,

Flocon a dit…

Anonyme a dit…

So true. Pierian Spring and all...

I'm still working on my painting of the two 'Romans'. These two Romans are Flocon and Christine because they are the only two people on SWT who I have a clue as concerning what they look like and who they are. I keep changing the painting because as each day passes by I acquire an additional concept of who is Flocon and who is Christine.

Christine a dit…

Merci Flocon!
Bonne journée.

Christine a dit…

Anijo,

Flocon a dit…

Anijo,

"These two Romans are Flocon and Christine"

Beware Anijo, people will go "They're sitting on a branch, they're sitting on a branch, na na na.."

Patti Smith has become a Parisian icon for some times now.

Flocon a dit…

The French version goes:

Hou ! la menteuse (zeu)
Elle est amoureuse (zeu)

Hou ! la menteuse (zeu)
Elle est amoureuse (zeu)

It works only for girls as far as I know. Et Christine connaît la rengaine (neu)

Anonyme a dit…

Flocon a dit…

Anijo,

The rhymes doen't work quite like that (neu neu will have French people laugh because it basically means "simpleton").

In French, if you proounce menteuses aloud you'll notice the ending is zeu like is that of amoureuse.

So it's just a repetition of the ending of the menteuse et amoureuse words.

It doesn't work with Flocon (neu) which, by some sort of chance, means flaky :-D

It works with Xtine (neu) since her name ends with "ne".

It definitively doesn't work with "copain" et "loin". That would give copain (ain) et loin (ouin).

Ned Ludd a dit…

Flocon a dit…

Ned,

They meant "nucular missionaries" that is.

Anonyme a dit…

thank you for the corrections Flocon. I'm not sure what picture as a gift I could give you though..

Flocon a dit…

The picture would be fine Anijo. Just there are two Romans and we don't know who they are...

What about Julius et Cornelia? ;-)

Anonyme a dit…

Right, we don't know who they are, but they have a certain resemblance to a kind and intelligent Parisien and a kind and intelligent Ébroïcienne.

Anonyme a dit…

I finally completed the painting of mes deux potes virtuels.

I don't have a very good camera and the natural light is a bit weak at this time of evening, but there it is.

Flocon a dit…

Merci pour le cadeau Anijo ☺

No doubt Julius the Roman resembles very much someone I know in my neighbourhood... ;-)

I've photoshoped the painting, you tell me how you feel about it. There are many options available, all suggestions are welcome.

But why haven't you added a third figure, that of a kind and intelligent New-Mexican?

Re "pote", it's mainly used between teens (girls and boys) or between men but not between women (unless they're diehard lesbians).

But here it's OK since you adress both a man and a woman.

Maybe is pote tantamount to buddy or pal, don't know.

Maybe can Ned help?

Anonyme a dit…

It looks good Flocon. Thank you.

I used "pote" as a nod to Xtine. She'll get it. I think of it as meaning "pal". One translation I found on line was "dude", but that doesn't seem right to me. The Brits and Aussies use "mate" and that seems to be about right.

I've never done a self portrait. I don't think I could depict myself.

Anonyme a dit…

Ferrer beat Nadal :(

Still, this is an enjoyable, competitive and interesting tennis open in Australia. I'm looking forward to the Djokovic / Federer match.

Djokovic is a character. He does some amusing imitations of fellow tennis players. Federer is a beautifully graceful tennis player.

Flocon a dit…

Anijo,

I was very much in tennis between 1980 (the year I took interest) and 2001 when France won the Davis cup for the last time.

I remember the final in 1996 when my heartbeat was going 120/min and my blood pressure was about 18/12... and then I decided it wasn't worth getting all shook up just for a sport event.

2 players I liked very much in the 70s/80s were Jimmy Connors and Chris Evert. Also there was Jim Courrier who enthralled the Parisians because he could speak French.

I now follow very loosely sports, I'm not interested in the least in football (European one of course) save in 1998 when France won the world title.

But I'm very much a fan of rugby and ever was since I was 12.

But not for the reasons you can see on the picture of course. I've heard that some ladies don't find these guys totally unattractive. Go figure, I do! :-D

Anonyme a dit…

Wow! I was enjoying my morning libation and about spit some coffee on the keyboard when I clicked on the picture! I was expecting a link to what your friend had to say about Rugby. Those are indeed very handsome men. wow...

I enjoy tennis, but I don't get all worked up about it. Although I like Nadal a lot, I also enjoy watching the other players. And over the years, women's tennis has improved and has a wider field of players now. I don't watch any other sports though.

Federer speaks French fluently and the French crowd at Roland Garros like him a lot.

Have you seen this?

A hacker took over French President Nicolas Sarkozy's Facebook account and issued a fake message that he would not run for re-election in 2012, local media reported on Monday, hours before the president was due to outline the agenda of France's G20 presidency.

"Taking into account exceptional circumstances facing our country, I decided in my soul and conscience not to represent myself after my first term in 2012," the message posted on his Facebook account said.

Flocon a dit…

Roger Federer has a lovely personality as far as I know and yes he speaks French, German (his native tongue), English and possibly some other language.

Yes, I read about the fake annoucement of Sarko retiring.

Anijo, do you know that you, me and two other people have left an enduring impression on people we haven't been in touch with for more than three years?

I personaly,"was and still pissed off about everything American."

The things I learn about myself on the Internet! Amazing :-D

Anonyme a dit…

I just learned that I'm "just plain pissy about life", and that I'm from France! lol

Seems that Ms Miami is also from France..

Yes, Flocon, you're so pissed off about everything American and that's why you spend time talking to a pissy American on your blog everyday.

Flocon a dit…

When Greg writes "if i'm not mistaken, france has had a law legalizing squatters in 'abandoned' buildings for quite some time."
he's utterly wrong but not totally off base though.

He probably refers to the existing law which prohibits eviction of tenants who don't pay the rent (but I don't know if it applies to squatters) from the 15th of December until the 15th of March. I'm not certain about the dates but that's about it.

Now SF isn't exactly the kind of man to be pissed off because someone left his blog at some time...

Pathetically hilarious!

Wikipedia never ceases to amaze me.

They have pages for historic, statistics etc.

The French are supposed to be stuck in the past and regarding Napoleon as their grandest hero.

And that page about Justin Bieber.
